THEO brings security & transparency to peer to peer sales, by requiring that the terms of every transaction be outlined in a legally binding contract, that the funds of the purchase be deposited into Escrow, and all artworks sold undergo authentication. We remove all security issues, to enable you to sell works directly to your peers, with all the security measures you need to do so.

THEO secures every single transaction by requiring that all transactions have legally binding agreements, to protect both the buyer & seller. THEO takes security a step further by requiring each artwork sold to go through a provenance review as well as our proprietary multi-step verification process with our team of expert advisors & authenticators.

What is Escrow?

Escrow is a legal agreement in which a third party temporarily hold large sums of money until the two parties involved in the transaction meet certain conditions (e.g., the fulfillment of a purchase agreement).

Escrow reduces risk on both sides of a transaction by collecting funds from a sale and depositing them in a regulated account. Escrow accounts are closely monitored to ensure all escrowed funds abide by the legal terms outlined in the contract.

 

THEO Guarantee

THEO handles everything to make sure you can buy and sell with complete confidence! Our proprietary authentication process as well as our legal structure, guarantees that your purchase will be authentic and that the transaction will go as smoothly as possible! All with the security of knowing that your funds and/or artworks, are secure in the process.

 

The Process

  1. The Buyer and/or Seller, meet with our Concierge to outline the terms of the transaction.

  2. Our legal team drafts a legally binding contract, to protect both the buyer and seller throughout the transaction.

  3. Once the agreement has been reviewed and approved by both parties involved, signatures are collected and wire instructions for our escrow account are emailed to the buyer.

  4. Once funds have been received in escrow, our escrow agent emails an escrow letter to both parties.

  5. Then, our Concierge works with our advisors & authenticators, to fully vet the artwork being sold, and subject it to our proprietary authentication process.

  6. Once authenticated, the artwork is packaged and processed for shipping to the buyer.

  7. Once the artwork is received by the buyer, our Concierge verified the delivery condition with the buyer and finalizes the documentation.

  8. Our legal team reviews all documentation and outline of events, ensures all of the terms of the contract are fulfilled, and released funds to the seller.

Our Fees

THEO’s fees are simple, we charge a flat fee of $595.

We never charge commissions for the transaction. The funds sent to escrow are always the amount disbursed to the seller (or refunded to the buyer in some instances), so you can rest assured, we are here to help!
